Welcome!

Welcome to the King Springs Special Needs Pre-School Classes Blog.  We are excited about the new school year and happy to be teaching such fun children.  This year, there are two Special Needs Pre-School classes at King Springs, one Special Needs Pre-School, and one Pre-school class for students with Autism. 

Meet Our Teachers...

Special Needs Pre-School

Virginia Fobes- Teacher   virginia.fobes@cobbk12.org
Virginia Fobes is married with three children.  She has lived in Kennesaw, Georgia for the last six years.  During that time her children have all attended schools in the Cobb County School District.  This year her youngest will be starting 2nd grade at King Springs Elementary, her middle son will be completing his 8th grade year at Palmer Middle and her oldest will be participating in the Performing Arts charter program at Pebblebrook High. 
    Virginia earned her general education teaching certificate after completing her bachelor's degree in early childhood education program at Kennesaw State University.  Virginia is also certified by the state of Georgia as a special education teacher.  
    Virginia is grateful to be teaching at King Springs Elementary.  This will be her second year as the teacher of preschool students with special needs at King Springs.  She looks forward to another year of walking with her students as they journey forward. 

Sara Salasky- Paraprofessional
Sara is excited to be working at King Springs again this year!  She is a graduate of Cobb County Schools and Kennesaw State with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  This is her 8th year working for Cobb County and her 2nd year at King Springs.  She hates to leave her two year old little girl, but loves working with kids.  She is looking forward to another great school year!

Erika is a mother of three and a proud graduate of King Springs.  She is looking forward to a wonderful year!



Special Needs Pre-School- Students with Autism

Heather Burton- Teacher  heather.burton@cobbk12.org
Heather has been married for five years and just had her first baby in May, Janie.  She just moved to Cobb County last year and worked with the Kindergarten classes here at King Springs last year.  Prior to moving here, she taught high school students with Autism for 6 years in Charlotte, NC.  She is a trained Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist and worked in-home for two years.  Heather earned her bachelor's degree in Special Education from Clemson University- go tigers and is a National Board Certified Teacher.  She is excited to be teaching the Special Needs Pre-school class for students with Autism and is looking forward to a great school year.

Benjamin Tiller- Paraprofessional
Ben is married and has a 1 year old little girl, Fiona.  He has been a paraprofessional here in Cobb County Schools for six years and has been at King Springs for five years.  He has worked in special needs classrooms as well as general education classrooms.  He also works with the Robotics and Chess Programs here at King Springs.  Ben is excited to be back at King Springs and is happy to be working in the Special Needs Preschool class for students with Autism!!

Kathy is excited to be back at King Springs Elementary this school year.  She had the pleasure of working with the class last year and is looking forward to seeing the progress this year.  She works with both teachers closely and is in the classrooms as much as possible.  She is looking forward to a wonderful school year!
